The Nippon Foundation Fellowship of the United Nations offers marine science to help developing states officials and other intermediate professionals in developing nations for maritime affairs and maritime law, as well as allied disciplines, such as the administrative framework.  The fellows will gain knowledge of the UN’s activities and get familiar with the international legal framework, key issues, and best practices. Also, under the guidance of academics, fellows will carry out independent research projects and compose essays on subjects of their choosing.

After completing the Fellowship, Fellows are expected to return to their home countries and contribute to the creation of a thorough United Nations Convention on Maritime Policy and Law using their in-depth knowledge and wealth of experience.  I’ll do my part to uphold the existing legal order. through developing, putting into practice, and/or testing particular maritime improvement projects, including improvement projects specifically.

Financial Benefits of Nippon Foundation Fellowship:

Foreign students can apply for the fully funded United Nations Nippon Foundation Fellowship 2023–24.  Details of the costs that are covered are provided below:

Eligibility Criteria for UN Fellowship:

Students who meet the following requirements may apply for United Nations Nippon Foundation Fellowship 2023–24:

• You must be between the ages of 25 and 40.
• You must successfully complete your first university degree and show that you have the academic independence necessary to pursue advanced academic study and research on your own.
