The Matsumae International Foundation (MIF) was established in 1979 to attract highly qualified researchers and support the development of their research abilities. As a result, the foundation aims to build collaborative bridges between Japan and other nations. In light of the growing threat of nuclear war due to the proliferation of nuclear weapons, the foundation’s goal is to promote cultural and scientific exchanges as a means of fostering greater understanding among nations and securing the world before it reaches the brink of collapse. Promoting cultural and academic exchanges is one of the critical foundations of MIF, as it believes that such exchanges will pave the way for friendship and goodwill among nations.
The MIF offers a fully-funded research fellowship program that covers all the basic expenses that may hinder your ability to travel productively to other countries. During your stay in Japan, you will have the opportunity to learn about the culture and traditions that have helped make Japan a peaceful nation following the devastation of World War II. As a result, Japan has been actively providing scientific and technical knowledge to young minds, with the hope that they will contribute to solving society’s problems furthermore, your study tours and other visits will also provide ample opportunities for entertainment.
