Applications are now open for the MOFA Taiwan Fellowship 2024 in Taiwan. This opportunity is available to international students worldwide, thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Taiwan, which established and funds the fellowship.
The fully funded MOFA Taiwan Fellowship aims to support foreign experts and scholars interested in researching topics related to Taiwan, cross-strait relations, the Asia-Pacific region, and science. Selected fellows will have the chance to engage in advanced research at Taiwanese universities or educational institutions.
The Taiwan Fellowship offers 12 fellowship positions for applicants who are scholars and developing APEC economists. Eligible candidates must be foreign nationals who are professors, associate professors, assistant professors, postdoctoral researchers, doctoral candidates, or students in doctoral programs at foreign universities within relevant fields.
The fellowship lasts from 3 to 12 months. Applications are open in May and June each year, with recipients beginning their research in Taiwan in early January of the following year.
To date, 934 scholars from 78 countries have participated in this program. The Taiwan Fellowship, part of the APEC Scholarship Initiative, offers 12 Chinese Taipei APEC Fellowships each year, specifically aimed at scholars and experts from developing APEC economies. The total number of recipients is determined by MOFA’s annual budget.
